Teacher’s Manual and Educational Platform

WiseMe Handbook

This Work Package will develop the content of the training manual for secondary education teachers in order to train them in the detection, verification, and management of disinformation and fake news.

An Online Educational Platform will also be designed and developed to host educational resources for training in disinformation management aimed at secondary school teachers and students.

The specific objectives of this work package are:

• To raise awareness among secondary education teachers and students of the need to be well informed and of the threat posed by new technologies for the rapid spread of disinformation and fake news.
• To contribute to the acquisition, by secondary school teachers and students, of the necessary skills for the management and verification of information, especially that which they consume through social networks since they are the main platforms for the consumption of information content by their students.
• Encourage secondary education teachers and students to reflect and develop a critical spirit.
• To provide secondary education teachers with educational resources so that they can implement their learning and thus train their students in the management of disinformation and fake news.
• Improve the digital competencies of secondary school teachers.
• Provide secondary school teachers and students with an online learning platform with theoretical and practical educational resources aimed at increasing their level of competence in disinformation and fake news management.

This work package contributes to the achievement of the following project objectives:

• To provide training resources to teachers to understand and teach the detection of fake news through the educational use of social networks and the improvement of digital competencies.

WiseMe Buddy to facilitate navigation on the platform and the use of educational resources.

This work package involves the design and development of an educational chatbot that will be designed based on the analysis of the previous research results. It will be hosted on the online Educational Platform.

• The specific objectives of this work package are as follows:
• To provide an innovative element to the online educational platform that will provide a more intuitive and accessible learning experience for students through interaction with the chatbot.
• Provide personalized support to students through automated response and problem solving through the chatbot.
• Introduce a stimulus to make lessons more entertaining and for secondary education students to increase their motivation to learn.
• Humanize the online learning experience through the creation of a sympathetic and friendly figure who will interact with high school students in the chatbot
• Provide teachers with information about their students’ chatbot usage data, which will help them to track their students’ interaction and learning.
• In summary, we can say that the implementation of a chatbot in the online educational platform will allow students and teachers to interact more effectively and efficiently, and will enhance the overall online learning experience.
• The introduction of this element also seeks to encourage student participation in discussions and learning activities through interaction with the chatbot.

• To develop a digital tool (chatbot) as an educational resource that contributes to the training of secondary school students in terms of managing and detecting fake news.
